Sisters in Irish music.
And we do not refer to the actual sisters, but the sister as an instrument. The most famous modern variation of this old instrumental family is, without doubt, the Portuguese guitar, but the sister is loved withing the Irish folk music as well. Paul Kotapish (see image below) is playing the sister in Kevin Burke’s Open House and the sister even plays a key part on the CD First Flight of Gerald Trimble (see image).
