‘California Dreamin’: the music of Robert Erickson.
Emotional, canonic sounds of beauty. The American composer Robert Erickson (1917-1997) is known as the most influential composer of the West Coast of Amerika. During his whole creative live, he had taught composers such as: Pauline Oliveros, Paul Dresher, Terry Riley, Morton Subotnick, and also
David Dramm. His sensitive, panoramic music deserves a larger audience. In this theme programme, some highlights of his work, including the recently recorded string quartets.
