And what to think of the new opera ‘Montag aus Licht’, almost 5 hours of music by Karlheinz Stockhausen. Michael Tippett is saying goodbye with ‘New Year’, his last opera. And Dominick Argento is nearing the end of his career with ‘The Aspern Papers’, a massive succes from the day it was premiered in Dallas.
