Chronicle of Dutch Music

In Chronicle of Dutch music you will hear music from Dutch composers that have long been forgotten. Back in the day their works were very popular and were performed in the concert chamber of the Felix Meritis in Amsterdam. Works from Johann Andreas Kauchlitz Colizzi [as pictured], Johann August Just & Christiaan Ernst Graaf.

 

1. Johann Andreas Kauchlitz Colizzi (1742-1808) [as pictured].
Concerto for string orchestra, opus 2 no. 1 in D major.
Janine Jansen, violin. Haydn Youth Orchestra conducted by Ben de Ligt.

2. Johann August Just (1750-1791).
a. A choir from his opera ‘De Koopman van Smirna’.
Pont de la Virtue.

b. Sonata for four hands, opus 12 no. 2 in A major. Performed on a house organ.
Annerös & Regula Hullinger, organ.

3. Christiaan Ernst Graaf (1723-1804).
a. Symphony no. 14, opus 4 in C major.
New Dutch Academy conducted by Simon Murphy.

b. Concerto for cello and orchestra no. 2 in D major.
Klaus Dieter Brandt, cello. L’Arpa Festante.

c. Quartet for flute, violin, altviool and cello, opus 12, no. 3 in D minor (part 1).
Mikael Hilasvuo, flute. Members from the Ostrobotnisch Chamber Orchestra conducted by Juha Kangas.
