Radio Romantica and Brahms are inseparable. Rachel Roberts is internationally renowned as a viola player, particularly in chamber music.
She plays in London with the Wigmore Hall Soloists and has frequently been invited to the famous Spannungen Festival in Heimbach and the Delft Chamber Music Festival. Her recordings of Brahms’s Viola Sonatas and Schumann’s Märchenbilder – which you’ll be listening to today – date back to 2011. These exquisite interpretations of this brilliant music were also made possible by the contribution of pianist Lars Vogt – an outstanding pianist and the driving force behind the world-famous Spannungen Festival, who passed away from liver cancer in 2022.
