Thou singest ye carol

Evert Jan Nagtegaal with Duo Bilitis: Two Harps, One Voice!

This episode of Die Sanck een Liedt features Duo Bilitis, with Eva Tebbe and Ekaterina Levental exploring the musical possibilities of two harps and a mezzo-soprano voice. Their arrangements bring a fresh perspective to music by Debussy, Granados, de Falla and Montsalvatge.

The duo’s name is inspired by Debussy’s atmospheric Chansons de Bilitis, composed to texts by Pierre Louÿs.
