This month in Acoustic Roots: The Daniel Okiror Band
Daniel Okiror is originally from Uganda; he and his band won the hearts of the crowd at venue Podium Oost last December. They had the crowd on their feet in no time with the catchy sounds of saxophone, drums and authentic African instruments.

Daniel Okiror
Frontman Daniel Okiror studied music at the Africa Institute of Music, finishing his studies with a bachelor in social sciences at the Makerere University. He now lives in Utrecht, where he is a social entrepreneur, having founded the Intercultural Foundation / Beats of Hope. This organisation helps out street children, forms a platform for intercultural exchange and offers artist residencies. They have projects in Uganda, Kenia and The Netherlands. So now, enjoy the music from the Daniel Okiror band: world music from afar and nearby.
