Northern Lights: an hour devoted exclusively to Scandinavian and Baltic music, every week. Our boundless musical search takes us from old to new, from well-known to decidedly less familiar, happily exploring the entire spectrum of quasi-classical music and crossovers.

Today’s programme features two song cycles by birthday boy  Pēteris Vasks (pictured above), as well as a new album by Danish composer Mogens Christensen (pictured to the right), featuring a work inspired by five mythical rivers of the underworld.
