Bonum Est: a programme on Gregorian Chant. Spanish, Hungarian and other laments.
In Bonum Est’s episode 117 you will hear laments for the last three days of Holy Week.
In good Gregorian tradition, many melodies and texts were added to the original repertoire. During the Renaissance the number of texts was brought back to 9 and only 2 melodies remained.
Today you will hear less fashionable melodies and texts originating from Spain (Silos, Toledo and León) and also from Zagreb, Prague and other places.
