Afrikafestival Hertme 2014: Habit Koité and new accompaniment
The Afrikafestival Hertme 2014 (Africa Festival Hertme) counted many famous names and on Sunday 6 July the famous singer and guitar player Habib Koité (pronounciation Qatté) from Mali performed at the end of the afternoon. Habib Koité hardly needs an introduction in the Netherlands. In the nineties he broke through with his first album Muso Ko which quickly rose to number 3 of the European world music charts. Meanwhile Habib released 5 albums and his band Bamada could be found on all international stages.

Meanwhile he was at Hertme for the third time this year. This time with new accompaniment and he released a new album Soô with them. Soô is an anthology of the secrets of a society in solidarity and the unity of a country.
