Today a recording of Quartet NL. Quartet NL consists of Han Bennink, Ernst Glerum, Peter Beets and Benjamin Herman. Additional soloists: Ben van Gelder alto sax and Signe Emmeluth also alto sax On 10 October 2021, this recording was made in CloudNine /TivoliVredenburg.
The show was a remembrance of alto saxophonist Piet Noordijk. Piet Noordijk played Dixieland with the Storktown Dixie Kids, Bebop with Rob Madna, FreeJazz with the Misha Mengelberg Quartet but then went back to traditional paths as a soloist with the Metropole Orchestra.
Quartet NL consists of Benjamin Herman, alto saxophone; Peter Beets, piano;
Ernst Glerum, double bass; Han Bennink, drums.
Special guests are Ben van Gelder and Signe Emmeluth: Ben van Gelder and Signe Emmeluth, both alto saxophone.
