The Travel Diaries of Charles Burney. The second journey, episode 3: Burney has arrived in Vienna.

Today the third episode of the second study tour of music historian, composer and musician Charles Burney (1726-1814).
In 1772, Burney travelled through the Low Countries, Germany and Austria and wrote ‘Present State of Music in Germany, The Netherlands and the United Provinces’.

In this episode, Burney is in Vienna where he meets the composers Johann Adolf Hasse and Christoph Willibald Gluck, and author Metastasio.
