#218. Independent sound art, radiophonic projects and other audio non-visual misunderstandings and findings. A psycho geographic documentary by the doctors Klangendum. Part 2.
Both doctors visited the city of Almere in the Dutch province of Flevoland to record a radio documentary which is full of biased pessimism. But in all honesty, it is also round said at the start of the documentary. It’s solely about the psycho geographical side of the cause; which is a term from the situationism; it uncovers the path of the least resistance, which unconsciously is followed in a walk/trip without purpose (the doctors were primarily by car) and points the drifter to the appealing or revolting character of certain places…
This is the fourth city project which Dr. Klangendum does; before Dublin, Tbilisi and Charleroi were addressed; all cities received their turn in a different way and from different perspectives. Almere received a psycho geographic treatment. Its reason: Almere is a new Dutch city, built in the 1970’s on virgin land. A chance to try something new, a chance to create what wasn’t there yet. And what did they make of it?
