Orchestra leader, composer and pianist Duke Ellington (1899-1974) part 34.
In 1963 Afro-Bossa was released, Ellington’s first album for Frank Sinatra’s label Reprise. One year later, Ellington edited the music of Walt Disney’s film hit Mary Poppins, upon Disney’s request. He did this together with Billy Strayhorn.
