César Bolaños (1931-2012) was among the first in his country to write electronic, computer, & music theater works making use of multimedia & indeterminacy in which chance procedures affect both composition & performance. As a musicologist, he specialized in ancient and traditional Andean musical instruments and practices, including dance, as well as modern Peruvian music and electronic media.
César Bolaños was one of the leading artists of the Latin American avant-garde of the mid 20th century. These recordings bring together for the first time a definitive edition of his work on CD.
