Is today’s theme farewell? Yes, maybe. Farewell to the year 2018, but also farewell to dearly deceased, of leaving dear colleagues, of diluted friendships… But still! Mainly the farewell to the illusion of innocence. The realization that it is impossible to live in innocence without damaging the earth and the world makes life even more precious. And defenceless. The realization that an honest world is an illusion, makes it even more beautiful to strive for it. Open your eyes for what you create! A long, but still way too short piece from 2012 by Rocókon (Harrold Roeland): Glacier Looming. The version of approx. 20 minutes. The album also has a version of an hour. It has been repeated many times in the Kairos space in the past few weeks. That one as well: way too short! What also is from a 2012 album is Zilverspa by Broeder Dieleman. A sing-along about the death of his mother. A few etherical pieces by KJ Rothweiler form the launching platform and the soft landing for Johan Duijck’s space flight.
