Tonight, new work by Alva Noto and Paul Beaudoin. Alva Noto’s Sono Obi Wave Weave is a soundtrack for a short film about a Japanese weaving technique. The work seeks to link acoustic frequency patterns to traditional weaving techniques.
At the end of the programme, four introspective tracks from two albums by Paul Beaudoin from Estonia, released simultaneously.
Tonight’s classic is a collaborative project by the multi-talented Bill Laswell and the enigmatic Japanese artist Tetsu Inoue. After a number of now legendary albums (including collaborations with Pete Namlook, Carl Stone and Terre Thaemlitz), Inoue disappeared completely from the public eye in 2007.
