Vestiges (Remnants) is Olivier Alary’s symphony for twelve steel guitars and electronics. It features a sound you wouldn’t readily expect given the instruments.
For Fathom Tides, Lawrence English made the field recordings in Australia, which were edited (and supplemented with electronics) by Werner Dafeldecker.
Collapse (1996) is a collaborative project between guitarist/producer James Plotkin and drummer Mick Harris (Napalm Death, Scorn). No blistering metal here, but deep and dark ambient drones. The ‘ambient Mick Harris’, by the way, is also known by the Lull alias.
