Thad Jones 100 years. On March 28th, it was 100 years ago that this trumpeter, composer, and arranger was born. He played in the Basie Band from 1954 to 1963, for which he also composed and arranged.
During this period, he also recorded with a septet and 2 sextets. Attention for this exceptional musician (who later founded the famous Thad Jones/Mel Orchestra in 1965) with nine original compositions.
