Northern Lights

Scandinavian and Baltic Music

In Northern Lights, we devote an hour every week exclusively to Scandinavian and Baltic music. Our musical search knows no boundaries, taking us from the old to the new, from the familiar to the decidedly less familiar. That alco includes the entire spectrum of quasi-classical music and crossover styles. Today, however, Jazz takes center stage, featuring a new intimate Finnish album by two friends, as well as a new album by Norwegian trumpeter and composer Nils Petter Molvær. For this project, he travelled around the world, recording with prominent musicians in major cities and naming each track after the city in which it was made.
