After 15 years, trombonist and composer Willem van Manen (born 1940) will leave the Concertzender, which is why we take the opportunity to play some of his works from his voluminous musical career.
First, you will hear some jazz works recorded in 1979 when he played with small-sized ensembles featuring his pioneering trombone-playing. Then, recordings from 2000 of his 14-member Contraband, which has been performing from 1985 up until 2004.
