A special on Root 70 by Nils Wogram. This German musician is one of the most prominent European jazz trombone players. To him, the trombone has no limits. Both his technique and his musical thinking have a flexibility seldom seen in jazz. It is for a good reason he was awarded the Albert Mangelsdorff Preis in 2013: a very prestigious German jazz award. Just like Mangelsdorff, Wogram is considered an innovator. His ensemble Root 70 will be featured during this broadcast.
