Dohnányi’s String Trio and Korngold’s String Sextet
Radio Romantica brings you another hour of chamber music, this time featuring two composers whose names may be less familiar.
Hungarian composer Ernő Dohnányi’s Serenade for string trio is not something you hear on the radio every day, and Erich Wolfgang’s Korngold’s String Sextet is rarely heard either. But that is what the Concertzender is here for—and it is always good to give your ears a bit of a refresh.
Both composers were celebrated pianists, and both were renowned for their craftmandhsip in two fields. Their works are performed by equally accomplished English musicians.
