Boy’s Big Band. In 1960 when a big band was built around the Diamond Five for a performance conducted by Boy Edgar in the Concertgebouw it was supposed to be a one-off. Thanks to VARA radio this orchestra existed longer and thanks to Boy Edgar the Boy’s Big Band became a household name in the history of jazz in the Netherlands.
