With CDs by Karim Baggili (Belgium) and Dhafer Youssef (Tunisia).

Karim Baggili.
The songs of Karim Baggili are very varied, both in playing style as in tonality. In some songs he plays different instruments, like in Pismo za vas, in which he plays the oud (Arabic lute) and the guitar. Karim composed all songs himself, except one: ‘Racset Siti’ which is based on an old traditional Arabic melody (which was edited by him) and on which he not only plays the oud, but also percussion.

Dhafer Youssef.
Dhafer Youssef is a Tunisian Oud player, singer and composer, born in 1967 in Tunisia. Descendant of a modest family from the fishing village Teboulba, he comes from a long line of muezzins (a muezzin in Islam is the person who calls for ritual prayer by azan and igama. So the muezzin more or less has the same funtion in Islam as church bells in christianity.). Dhafer Youssef developed an interest in jazz at an early age and later moved to Europe to pursue his jazz career. He recorded six albums, of which the latest is  Birds  Requiem.
