The Early World

sat 31 oct 2015 07:00 hour

With world music from Antimufa (Argentina), A Filetta (Corsica), No Blues (Netherlands).

Antimufa plays tango en Argentinean folk music like no other band. Not retrospective, but future-oriented and adventurous. These four Argentinean musicians continue the musical tradition of the Río de la Plata. The spontaneous improvisations added to classic tangos, milongas and folk rhythms create powerful melodies and sophisticated sounds.

NoBlues Habibi.jpgNO Blues started out as a project from production company Productiehuis Oost Nederland and became one of the most successful Dutch world music bands.
Despite the tenth anniversary of the band their new album Oh Yeah Habibi has the immediacy of a debut album. Ud player Haytham Safia:“In therms of form we return to the pure sound of guitar, ud, contrabass and percussion." Unlike their five previous albums NO Blues chooses to latch on current events. They refer to the refugee problem with songs like “Exodus” and “The World Keeps On Turning”.
