Music for Leisure
In the famous series of the Pieterskerk Concerts foundation, a new formula was introduced last year. Two choirs – which usually don’t know each other – were asked to give a concert together. Not besides each other, but with an integrated program in which the choirs sing not only separately, but also together.
On November 10, music theatre choir BonTon led by Jurriaan Grootes and Cantatori del Duomo led by Loes Egbers sang a hilarious programme, in which singers moved from one choir to another to reinforce a certain voice part and in which the singing choir was supported by theatrical activities of the other.
The walls between the cultures of these two Utrecht theatre choirs were demolished. That’s why “Breaking the walls” was the title of this special concert.
