Music from days gone by.

Musical time travel with not only old French accordion music by Albert Huard (“Alambra”), but also once ultra-modern electronic music by sound artist Jean-Jacques Perrey (“Japanese connection”).

We hear Nat King Cole (‘When I take my sugar to tea’) and Oscar Peterson on his Nat King Cole tribute album (‘When my sugar walks down the street’), trumpeter Fats Navarro (‘Nostalgia’), a love dilemma by Patsy Cline (‘Why can’t he be you?’), Peggy Lee with sound effects (‘Mack the Knife’) and topical remains the question of whether it might get better tomorrow by Cornelis Vreeswijk.

Also: Johnny Cash (‘For the good times’), Harry ‘Sweets’ Edison & Ben Webster (‘Gee baby, ain’t I good to you’), trumpeter Clifford Brown in Paris (‘I cover the waterfront’), Carmen McRae on the album ‘Ms. Jazz’ and Sophie Tucker (‘You can’t sew a button on a heart’).
