The night of crossover

Through the years, Concertzender has recorded many a world music concert in the Netherlands. Seeing as world music is such a vast area with many different styles, we have a huge collection of amazing concerts from all continents. This night is the night of the crossover, for which not all concerts have been recorded on own record.
1. Yiddish Fest Moscow 15 March 2014. Our friends in Moscow gave us recordings of the Gala concert of the Yiddish Fest in Moscow held on 15 March. An international group performed, mixing klezmer with rap, gospel, jazz and ska. Performers included Joshua Nelson, Michael Winograd and Frank London’s Klezmatics from the USA, Josh Dolgin SoCalled from Canada, Mark Kovnatskiy from Germany, Forsphil from Latvia, Gennady Fomin from the Ukraine, and Psoy Korolenko and Alexey Rozov from Russia, and the Opa and Dobranotch groups.
2. Concert of the Global Orchestra live at Beauforthuis Austerlitz on 2 March  2012. The Global Orchestra is a collaboration between Flairck chairman Erik Visser and Gypsy Band Basily. This symphonic gypsy orchestra consists of a large number of virtuoso gypsy musicians and acoustic instrumentalists from the Netherlands and abroad. They play only a few gypsy classics, including Gypsy Swing by Django Reinhardt. Furthermore, they play mostly their own songs. A lot of virtuoso musical acrobatics on violin, balaphone, flute and guitar. This orchestra’s enthusiasm is so infectious that it makes two hours of music seem like no time at all.
3. In 2007, Wayan Balawan and his Trio performed at the Tong Tong Festival at the Bintang theatre at the Malieveld in The Hague. Chris Hinze appeared as a guest musician. For the following 45 minutes, you can listen to a mix of guitar jazz and traditional music.
4. In 2012, African blues singer Roland Tchakounté performed at Vredenburg Leeuwenbergh, in Utrecht. He was accompanied by the great blues guitar player Mick Ravassat and drummer / percussionist Mathias Bernheim. Recording technician Wijnand de Groot.
