Jazz, blues and nostalgia, by Sjaak Roodenburg.
Music from days gone by: With once again the ‘Sinatra-laboratory’, a dreamy song by Pete Seeger, and one of the most important Italian ‘cantautori’: singer-songwriter Fabrizio de André.
Also saxophonist Frank Morgan, who played as if he were Charlie Parker and was called ‘Little Bird’ for that reason ; Billie Holiday – relieved that it is snowing so nobody notices that she is sad for a different reason, near namesake Johnny Holiday alias ‘Mr. Excitement’, and Harry Belafonte for once not about bananas, but with the album ‘Sings the Blues’.
Further, an airy song by the classic British entertainer Max Wall, the Jimmy Dorsey big band dazzling in ‘Thunder and blazes’, back by popular demand ‘the Italian Bing Crosby’: Carlo Buti.
And also the British band from Jack Hylton, film music by Piero Umiliani, Clark Terry, and perhaps also wishing for ice from 1927.
