Marion Eugénie Bauer (1882–1955; pictured) was an American composer, teacher, writer and music critic. To highlight her role in American music during the first half of the 20th century, this programme takes a closer look at some of her compositions, with a brief detour into the work of a teacher who played an important role in her development: Nadia Boulanger (1887–1979).
