Music of the Toma from Guinée.
The Toma are the inhabitants of the southeastern part of Guinée, at both sides of the border with Liberia. They live in an primeval forest area surrounded by mountains. They are also neighbouring with the Guerzé to the east, the Kissi to the west and the Malinké to the north. During two journeys in 1952 and 1953 to this area, these recordings have been made by Pierre-Dominique Gaisseau and Jean Fichter and released on an LP of the Label Vogue.This is music from the LP Musique Toma Guinée (1972).
