World Music NL! Episode 18: Dutch Jazz/World 99
Dutch Jazz-World 1999 cover
World Music NL! is a series of broadcasts on the variety of music genres within the comprehensive range of world music that is being made in the Netherlands.
Since the eighties world music has been the collective term for folk music (also traditional music), non-western classical music, non-western pop music and the blends thereof.
In the Netherlands there have been built up some unique collections with recordings from non-western and multicultural music of Dutch origin. They are owned by several semi-public institutions, associations and individuals. Over the years music organizations have made a number of compilation CDs that were not intended for trade.
