Music by 20th-century composers. Messiaen is happily married to violinist Claire Delbos. He makes composition after composition, but is not widely known. No worries, he’s still young after all. In 1933, he writes his Hymn for the holy sacrament and two years later he writes ‘birth of the saviour.’ These two pieces are his way in and his career takes off. But misfortune and sadness are just around the corner in his personal life. But more on that, in the next episode.
