Concertzender Live

fri 24 mar 2017 20:00 hour

Concerts from around the country, recorded by Concertzender (World Music). Recordings of the concert of the Amsterdams Turks Klassieke Muziek Ensemble and of Terah Taali.

This is Concertzender Live, with today, two short concerts. First, an older recording of the Amsterdams Turks Klassieke Muziek Ensemble, made on 7 June 2008 at the Oosterkerk in Hoorn. The second concert is of Terah Taali, recorded during the 2012 Haarlemmer Houtfestival.

The Amsterdams Turks Klassieke Muziek Ensemble consists of six singers and four musicians, and is part of the Amsterdams Turks Muziek Koor (Amsterdam Turkish Music Choir), founded in 2002. You will hear five typically Turkish instruments: the tanbur, a long-necked flute, the qanun, a sitar, the ud or lute, the darbuka and the daf, both rhythm instruments. In this programme, the Amsterdams Turks Klassieke Muziek Ensemble plays Ottoman songs, composed in the 17th and 18th century. The classic Turkish music originated from traditional Turkish folk music, but further developed at the Ottoman courts.

The ensemble consists of:
Mikail Erdogan (yayli tanbur)
Hikmet Erdogan (qanun)
Naziye Buyukarslan (ud)
Mahir Eyyastekin (darbuka, daf)
Seher Sahin (daf)
Ahmet Canga (soloist)

Abdulkadir Dogru (soloist)
Hatice Gundecik Tumer (soloist)
