We are still in Paris with Hummel, where in 1825, he scores triumphs and is showered with honours. For his farewell concert, Hummel uses a ten year old piano concert, dubs it ‘Les Adieux’ and pretends he composed it the day before. He fools everyone and adored by all. Back in Weimar, he is named Chevalier dans l’Ordre de la Légion d’Honneur, one of France’s most prestigious titles. een van de hoogste Franse onderscheidingen.
