Eric Krans (1923-1975) , born on Java, was a jazz pianist, orchestra leader and maker of jazz programmes. In 1946, he founded the Dixieland Pipers in the Netherlands, with whom he recorded his first record. Krans lost some of his band members to the Dutch Swing College, but soon formed a new band.
