Special crossover music, chosen by Ton Maas. The ‘Snaker’ solo with his friends.
Dave ‘Snaker’ Ray was barely out of his teens when he recorded the album Blues, Rags & Hollers with ‘Spider’ John Koerner and Tony ‘Little Sun’ Glover in 1963. Three white students from Minneapolis who have an interest in the black blues music. It had rarely been done before and immediately drew attention. Bob Dylan was their very first fan.
45 years after its release Koerner, Ray & Glover’s debut album still serves as a standard and source of inspiration for young black artists like the Carolina Chocolate Drops. Two years later ‘Snaker’ Ray released his first solo record: Snaker’s Here.
