400 years ago, Jan Pieterszoon Sweelinck died. Episode 3: Sweelincks musical sources: Italy and England.

Sweelinck’s musical role models originated from Italy and England. Sweelinck’s instrumental works can be divided into fantasias, toccatas, variations on secular songs and dances, chorale variations, and Echo Fantasias.

Sweelinck composed his Fantasias and toccatas to Venetian model. In this episode, we will hear many works for harpsichords.
