This is the fifth in a short series of programmes pertaining to the other side of bel canto composers. Vincenzo Bellini, Gaetano Donizetti and Gioacchino Rossini have mostly become and remained famous for their operas. However, they have also composed other types of music. This the second of three episodes focussing on Gioacchino Rossini. We will be listening to music, most of which was composed in his time as opera composer.
