Music of Latin America. Today in Mambo, the third and last episode of the 3-part series about Puerto Rican musician Bobby Rodriguez from New York.
Bobby was a true multi-instrumentalist who was best known for his skills playing the saxophone, flute and clarinet. It wasn’t until 1974 that he could start his band la Compaňia, an orchestra with a sound so specific it became a huge success.
The singer and trombonist of the band, Eddie Iglesias, left la Compaňia in 1984 to lead another band. Bobby continued with la Nueva Compaňia.
In 1987, Eddie Iglesias returned. The album then released was aptly named “Together Again”.
