According to Wikipedia: ‘A nonet is a musical ensemble of nine instruments or a composition written for such an ensemble. There is no prescribed or traditional scoring for the nonet. All kinds of combinations are possible.’ In this episode, two twentieth-century nonets are featured. One is by composer Charles Villiers Stanford (1852–1924) and the other by composer Nino Rota (1911–1979).
