The Audiosphere series will reach its 50th broadcast on Thursday 29 October at 23:00 CET. Audiosphere is a programme featuring influential sound art from the period 1980–2020.
From October 1, 2020 to February 15 2021, the extensive Audiosphere sound installation could be heard at the Reina Sofía Museum in Madrid. The installation consisted exclusively of sound-based works. Visitors could listen to a wide array of prominent international sound compositions—presented as a continuous mix—while relaxing on comfortable sofas, entirely free from any visual stimuli.
All of these sound works were collected, selected and curated for the installation by Francisco López—a Spanish avant-garde experimental musician, sound artist and curator. With a career spanning over 40 years, he is widely recognized as a pioneer within the international sound art and experimental music scene.
