Landschap en cello: Ben-Haim en Bloch • In deze aflevering van Sonoor klinken werken van Paul Ben-Haim (1897-1984) en Ernest Bloch (1880-1959). Ben-Haim, geboren in München, vestigde zich in 1933 in Tel Aviv. Landschappen (1939) behoort tot zijn vroege Palestijnse periode en laat een lyrische, vocaal georiënteerde stijl horen. Blochs Symfonie voor cello en orkest uit de vroege jaren vijftig plaatst de cello als solistische stem binnen een symfonisch kader en werd lange tijd overschaduwd door zijn Schelomo (1916). Het programma sluit af met Ben-Haims Concert voor cello en kamerorkest (1962), waarin Europese vormen zijn verbonden met melodische invloeden uit zijn Palestijnse en Israëlische omgeving.
