Young Polish people under the spell of the fiddle and the drum.
In no other East-European country are so many young people up and about with their musical inheritance as in Poland. For twenty years or so, it is bubbling and rumbling in the roots music, both authentic as contemporary. If you do not include father Jan, Kapela Maliszow belongs to the youngest generation, because singer Zuzanna Malisz is just 15 years old and her brother Kacper, violinist, is two years older. Despite their young age, they concentrate on the traditional ‘village style’ mazurkas. The formation Annutara with ten musicians belongs to the modernists, as their debut album ‘Ulisi’ illustrates.
