Maxine Sullivan (1911-1987) was famed as one of the best singers of the 30’s. She was in a sextet with bassist John Kirby, with whom she recorded some records in 1940. Fifteen years later, she recorded an album with the same musicians, Kirby had passed away. In 1956 she was in the studio again, this time for an album with songs by lyricist Andy Razaf, and music mostly by Fats Waller .
