A party without borders! Mixed by DJ Bertú: 2016 Flashback, part 1
DJ Bertú’s review of 2016. And what a year it’s been. And in many ways, not a good one. Trump, Syria, Aleppo, refugees, climate crisis, deceased icons, to name a few. Luckily, 2016 also gave us a lot of new music. It was the year of beautiful concerts, festivals and records, brand new re-issues and stunning compilations. Really, too much to mix in just one hour. That’s why DJ Bertú plays his 2016 mix in two block of an hour. This week, a mixed tap of new records of the year past, followed by the best re-issues and compilations during the Solta a Franga Night of 30 December. Enjoy a dose of Afro and Afro-Latin.

DJ Bertú plays Global Beats without limits and is inspired by and gets grooves from vast jungles, far-away deserts, but also urban beats from cities and jams from around the corner. Ever since the early 80s, he has been obsessed with African rhythms and funk and nothing can stop him from listening to music from all over the world and creating his sets based on what he’s picked up. DJ Bertú performed on many stages, in clubs, and on festivals, including Lowlands and Oerol. (photo).
