1- Violinist and singer Jitka Šuranská, accompanied by the mandolin and bass, recorded eleven songs for this album. We will be listening to Eastern Moravian folks songs from the Czech Republic and compositions by Mariana Friedl. Mariana’s songs perfectly align with the melodies from the Moravian region and are testament to the strength of Moravian folklore today.

4- Moondog, aka Louis Hardin, was a musician on the streets of Manhattan for years. He was blind, crafted his own instrument, and went dressed as a Viking. He was inspired by the sounds of the streets, those of the subway or of a mist horn. This seems relatively simple, but his sound is characterized by his so-called “snaketime”, which is described as “a slithery rhythm, in unusual times.”
