Lydia Emanuels was born on 8 April 1935 in Paramaribo. In 1956 she immigrated to the Netherlands to be educated in radio making together with George Hering. In the same year she started working for the Wereldomroep. From 1970 to 1977 she lived in Suriname and worked for the SRS radio channel as a management member and programme maker.
She worked for the Wereldomroep until 1985 as program maker/director for the Caribbean department. Photos: Wereldomroep 1966.
