New releases by Trio Da Kali & Kronos Quartet, Ramon Goose and Cemîl Qoçgîrî.
Trio Da Kali unites three outstanding musicians from the Mande culture of southern Mali, who come from a long line of distinguished griots (hereditary musicians). As a part of their cooperation with the Aga Khan Music Initiative, which was initiated in 2014 by musicologist dr. Lucy Durán, the Kronos Quartet recorded an album with the Trio. Their CD is titled ‘Ladilikan’ and both the Trio Da Kali and the Kronos Quartet regard this album as the best one they have ever recorded.
